I am writing to respond to your article “Clive Thompson says the digital age is making teenagers uniquely shallow and the kids are unable to form meaningful relationships”.

However, it had been said that teenagers spend a lot of times on their phones? This is true to a certain extent. We do use our phones maybe because the modern day society is boring and we need ways to communicate with our friends. The internet and social media is used for almost everything it is a great form of entertainment for teenagers I feel that teenagers should carry on to use social media.

Louis CK stated that he would not give his daughters a mobile phone. Teenagers love the joy of using their phone and the comfort that it is around them. This is understandable, it is completely entertaining. It is said that the social media stops teenagers from socialising with people face to face. This argument is flawed because teenagers are in school or possibly 6th form and they have ways of socialising with people and friends at least five times a day, this helps them communicate face to face also after school hobbies for example youth clubs where a lot of young people go to communicate this also helps and shows that teenagers are not always on their phones. As I can see from the first part of the paragraph it starts off with ‘shocking’, because the girl said that she texts about 250 times a day this is not really  a problem, a lot of adults send that much emails and messages during the day so this doesn’t really mean anything. She might not have anything to do in her spare time at home or even on the bus going to her house.

According to Louis CK, he has said that articles on the newspapers are filled with pornography addiction which means more and more teenagers are getting more knowledge about pornography and a change of children’s attitudes due to the new game grand theft auto 5. I agree with this possibly because the social media is full of pornography and it encourages the factor of addiction there have been cases when children have raped their friends or anyone, this is possibly because of the introduction to pornography to the younger generation, it also is something a parent would not want their child to watch at the their young age or even talk about it, also it makes parents think if they want their children even using their children using social media, its a big nightmare what you can do or can access in just the click of your mouse. Grand Theft Auto V a key aspect in violence to younger children the game everyone enjoys playing because of its bloody and violent aspect which is too much for the younger generations brain, parents also entertain this, by buying them the game and then wonder why their children are so violent towards them or in school children should not be allowed to play these time of games until they are mature enough or even old enough parents should know this and i completely agree with this quote.

is a key thing my example is snap chat where you snap your friends and family it lets you connect to everyone around the whole world and you can add anyone with a click share your details and what you look like, because teenagers are so intent to meet new people and gain new friends they tend to accept anyone they see that sends them a request knowing it could be a pedophile or possibly anyone who can do danger or not. Another example of the websites I agree with is Facebook. With 1.23 billion users worldwide this is a prime example of a big issue, why? the reason I say this is because any one can make Facebook and access it at any time and possibly find anyone send friend requests and view private pictures of other people. Facebook has improved over time because you can put your profile on private but…they also post things about themselves and do not even think like private aspects people do not need to know like your telephone number where you live where you are going and what school/college they go to.

This is an important topic to discuss, the world is rapidly growing and everything is evolving the use of social media is growing very fast and children are part of the online journey I feel that social media will always remain an  important feature of our lives and will never come to an edge because the introduction of more and more apps which catch the younger generations eyes and also fill their entertainment boundaries which will lead on for many more years to come.
